2007 Clifford Symposium
In April 2007, the 13th Annual Clifford Symposium, “Distortions in the Attorney/Client Relationship: Threats to Sound Advice?” united legal scholars from across the country to explore a number of situations in which nontraditional lawyer-client constellations threaten the quality of counseling. A $1 million gift from attorney Robert A. Clifford (’76) in 1994, endowed a faculty chair in tort law and social policy, giving meaningful expression to his belief that the civil justice system serves a number of vital interests in American society. The Clifford Chair provides a vehicle for exploration of the civil justice system in an intellectually rigorous fashion. Professor Stephan Landsman currently holds the Robert A. Clifford Chair in Tort Law & Social Policy.
