Academic Support

DePaul is one of a handful of law schools in the nation that has made it a priority to ensure that all of its students receive the support needed to succeed in law school and graduate fully prepared to enter the legal profession. To achieve this institutional commitment, the College of Law founded its Academic Support Program more than a decade ago to help first-year law students, particularly those with nontraditional backgrounds, develop critical thinking and analytical skills that law school demands. Two full-time legal education specialists oversee the program and address the wider concerns of enhancing the learning opportunities for all students. The program, which includes weekly classes, monthly workshops, small group instruction and one-on-one tutoring, allows students to actively engage in legal pedagogy.
