Facilities

FacilitiesThe College of Law occupies nine floors of DePaul University's Lewis and O'Malley buildings and is only two blocks from the federal courts and Chicago Bar Association headquarters. Also a short walk from the state courts and LaSalle Street-Chicago's historic legal and financial center-DePaul is only steps away from the Art Institute of Chicago, the Theatre District, Symphony Center and Lyric Opera House.

Through our wireless network, students with laptop computers can access the Internet from anywhere in the law school, including the library, classrooms, student lounge, and organization and journal offices.

Because the College of Law is an integral part of an outstanding University, all of DePaul's considerable re s o u rces are available to law students. As a member of the DePaul community, students enjoy the advantages of a world-class, urban university, including access to the facilities of the adjoining DePaul Center, a Chicago landmark that houses the College of Commerce Library, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of the Registrar, a student center with a cafeteria and recreational facilities, and a recently opened Barnes & Noble bookstore that services both the university community and the public.

Just a short "L" ride north, tucked away in the tree-lined Lincoln Park neighborhood, is the university's Lincoln Park Campus. Here, law students have access to the university's main library and student computer labs and can enjoy the university's many recreational and athletic facilities, including the state-of the-art, 120,000-square-foot Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreation Center, named in honor of DePaul's legendary basketball coach.

Although all law courses are held in the Loop, students commuting from the suburbs are free to utilize DePaul's satellite campus facilities in Oak Forest, Naperville, Rolling Meadows and O'Hare .

Located in the Loop just south of the College of Law, University Center of Chicago (UCC) is a new residence hall offering furnished apartments and suites. Opened in fall 2004, and created in conjunction with neighboring Columbia College and Roosevelt University, UCC provides an excellent living experience in the heart of downtown Chicago. Amenities include a rooftop garden, multimedia rooms, an exercise center, food court, laundry facilities, shops on the lower level, 24-hour security, and keycard access to the building and elevators.
