On-Line Job Postings

http://www.law.depaul.edu/jobs is a Internet based listing of job postings zccess is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Updated at least weekly, the listings include openings we receive directly from employers. The vast majority of the openings are in metropolitan Chicago, although occasionally we have listings from downstate Illinois, the District of Columbia and other locations. Most listings are for graduates with 0-5 years of experience.

The listings are password protected. Alumni may arrange free access to LawCareer by contacting the Law Career Services Office. We will provide you with a password, which changes quarterly on the first of January, April, July and October. Alumni/ae must call Law Career Services (312-362-8377) to obtain the new password.

LawCareer allows you to search for positions by date posted, location, practice, geographic area and more. Once you enter the site, (click on the Internal Job Listing link to the left side of the page), you can sort the positions by date in ascending or descending order by clicking on "Date" once for ascending order or twice for descending order. You can also sort the positions by employer and location, again by clicking on the respective title once for ascending order or twice for descending order.

The way the page is currently formatted, only 10 jobs are displayed at a time. If you wish to see more than 10 jobs at a time, simply scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter the number of positions (records) you wish to view per page.

To do a more advanced search and seek positions by specific city, state, posting date, practice area, etc., scroll down the main page to the Search section and complete the fields for the search you desire. Please note that your date search must be in the following format - MM/DD/YYYY. Also, please note that if you wish to search for positions by state, you must provide the state abbreviation, don't spell the state out (e.g., If you wish to find all Illinois postings entered into the site on or after February 1, 2002, click on the Select button under Date and select "on or after" and insert 02/01/2002 into the Date field, and in the Job Location field enter IL - if you enter "Illinois", your search will bring up "No Match".)

This is just a brief introduction to the system. Please log on and try the site for yourself. If you are experiencing difficulty navigating, please call us and we will answer your questions to the extent we are able. If we don't have the answer to your question, we will contact the provider with your question and get back to you with an answer. We are currently working with the provider to build the FAQ section (the link is on the left side of the screen), with hopes that your questions can be answered with a click of a mouse, rather than by you having to be inconvenienced by calling our office to find the answers to your questions.
