Employer Recruitment Programs
The Law Career Services Office offers both a Fall Employer Recruitment Program (FERP) and a Spring Employer Recruitment Program (SERP). The student registration deadline for FERP is generally mid-August, with interviews taking place during the month of September and October. The student registration deadline for SERP is generally late January, with interviews taking place during the month of February and March. Job Fairs
The Law Career Services Office advertises and/or participates in a number of job fairs each year to increase interview opportunities for its students. Job fairs also provide interview opportunities to special segments of the student population. Should you have any questions, please contact the recruitment coordinator at 312.362.8386.
The following list identifies certain job fairs that may be of interest to you. This list is not meant to be exhaustive. While we attempt to update the list regularly, dates and deadlines for fairs can change. Be sure to check the websites of each fair to confirm dates and deadlines, as well as whether you meet the requirements to participate. While some job fairs are designed to further particular goals of diversity within the legal profession, they can not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, handicap or disability, or sexual orientation. If a job fair charges a fee in order for individual students to attend, you may be responsible for paying the registration fee. You are responsible for any expenses related to attending the job fair.

Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference
The Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference (MPILCC), sponsored by the Chicago Area Law School Consortium, is a job fair for students interested in employment and volunteer opportunities in the public sector. The Conference attracts over 50 employers for on-site interviews, table talk and for resume collections. This year's Conference will be held at Northwestern Law School on Saturday, February 2, 2008. Information is available online at http://www.mpilcc.org. Student registration opens on Friday, November 16, 2007 and ends at noon on Friday, December 7, 2006. Registration is coordinated through the Career Services Office.
National Black Prosecutor Association Job Fair
The National Black Prosecutors Association (NBPA) is committed to the recruitment, training, and career advancement of minority attorneys as prosecutors at all levels of government. The 25th Annual Convention will occur July 12 – 19, 2008 at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In addition to a comprehensive legal training program for prosecutors, the conference will host the NBPA Job Fair on July 14, during the conference. The NBPA Job Fair provides a forum for law school students, recent law school graduates and experienced attorneys from across the nation to meet and interview for prospective employment in prosecutors’ offices at the local, state and federal levels. Patent Law Interview Program
In 2006, the Annual Patent Law Interview Program, sponsored by Loyola School of Law, included 150 patent law employers, 135 law schools, and 1500 registered law students from across the country. This year's annual program will be held Thursday, August 2, through Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Chicago Marriott Suites O'Hare. The Program is only open to law students who will be returning to school in Fall 2007. It is not for students beginning school in Fall 2007, students graduating spring or summer 2007, or alumni. Prospective positions are for summer associate and entry-level attorney positions for 2008. If interested in participating, sign up in the career services office and pick up a registration form and preliminary packet of information. The registration forms are due to the career services office by Friday, February 23, 2007 at 5:00 p.m.
Bay Area Diversity Career Fair
The 2007 Bay Area Diversity Career Fair is hosted by The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) and sponsored by Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. The Third Annual Bay Area Diversity Career Fair will bring together prominent law firms and government legal departments in the San Francisco Bay Area and highly qualified diverse second year law students from distinguished local law schools as well as other top schools from around the nation to participate in summer associate programs. This year's career fair will be held on Friday & Saturday, August 3 - 4, 2007. Interested students should submit a registration form, resume and unofficial transcript, deadline June 30, 2007. CCBA Minority Law Student Job Fair
The Cook County Bar Association and the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms coordinate and sponsor this job fair. This year's 24th Annual Cook County Bar Association Minority Law Student Job Fair will be held on Friday August 10, 2007, at the Hilton Suites Chicago - Magnificent Mile, 198 East Delaware Place, Chicago, IL. 2L's and 3L's (students in the classes of 2008 and 2009) are invited to participate. The Job Fair typically attracts approximately 100 law firms, corporations, and governmental agencies located in Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and other states. The deadline for registration is Friday May 4, 2007 at 12 midnight. There will be no walk-in interviews available for this job fair, so it is important to register if you would like to attend. Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference
The Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference is a program of the Twin Cities Committee on Minority Lawyers in Large Law Firms ("TCC"). The Conference is aimed at hiring law students of color from around the country for law firms, corporations, and government agencies located in Minnesota. On average, over 150 students and approximately 30 employers participate each year. Law students in their second or third year of law school are eligible to apply. The 2007 Conference will be held on August 17-18 at Faegre & Benson in downtown Minneapolis. National Black Law Student Association Midwest Region Minority Recruitment Conference
The National Black Law Student Association (NBLSA) hosts this annual job fair. The event has introduced approximately 600 different employers to 3000 law students over the past nineteen years. In 2005, there were over 40 nationwide legal employers and 150 law students from law schools in the Midwest Region. The 21st Annual NBLSA Midwest Minority Recruitment Conference will be held on TBA at TBA. Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair
The 3rd Annual Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair will be held September 7-8, 2007 in Kansas City, Missouri. The HDLJF was created for one particular purpose-more diverse lawyers in Kansas City. The job fair is designed to expose law students of diverse backgrounds to internships, summer associate positions and full-time employment to both the traditional and non-traditional legal employer. IMPACT Career Fair for Law Students and Lawyers with Disabilities
The 3rd Annual IMPACT Career Fair will be held on August, 10 2007 in Arlington, VA. Law students and lawyers with disabilities from the Classes of 2009 and earlier are invited to participate. Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair
The 2007 Lavender Law Career Fair will be held September 6, 2007 in Chicago. This annual Conference & Career Fair is designed to pair lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender attorneys and law students with opportunities at law firms and government agencies. The Career Fair has grown leaps and bounds over the past four years. Over two hundred attorney candidates and sixty employers representing private firms and public organizations from all over the country were present at last year's Career Fair in Washington, DC. Students are encouraged to register by August 15, 2007, when the fee is $115. After August 15, the fee goes up to $190. More information is available at http://www.lavenderlaw.org.
Northwest Minority Job Fair
The Northwest Minority Job Fair will be held September 15, 2007 in Seattle, Washington and is hosted by Williams Kastner. The Northwest Minority Job Fair's mission is to foster access to employment opportunities for historically underrepresented persons in the practice of law and to provide a networking forum for legal employers and minority law students. Based upon the original purpose of the Job Fair and limited resources, the focus of our mission is ethnic minorities. Rocky Mountain Diversity Legal Career Fair
The Rocky Mountain Diversity Legal Career Fair will be held on September 21, 2007 in Denver, CO. The Career Fair is open to students and recent graduates of any U.S. law school. Legal employers attending the RMDLCF seek to hire law students and 2007 graduates from culturally diverse backgrounds that have been traditionally under-represented in the practice of law in the Rocky Mountain region. These include law students and 2006 graduates who are ethnic or racial minorities and/or gay or lesbian. Online registration ends July 27, 2007. Equal Justice Works Annual Career Fair and Conference
The annual Equal Justice Works Career Fair & Conference is the nation's largest public interest law career fair and conference, hosting more than 200 employers and 1,200 students and graduates from across the country. Equal Justice Works hosts this conference and career fair to broaden, support, and recognize the efforts and participation of public interest-minded law students, lawyers, and advocates. This year's Fair will take place on Saturday & Sunday, October 6 & 7, 2007 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC. This year's events will feature individual interviews, a law school awards luncheon on Saturday, career development workshops and student discussion groups, on both days. All persons registered for the Career Fair may participate in the one-on-one employer interviews, table talk interviews, and educational sessions on how to advance a public interest career. Students who would like one-on-one interviews must submit resumes and cover letters to attending employers in September.
