Todd W. Musburger is a sole practitioner specializing in media and entertainment law. Since 1980, he has operated his own firm, Todd W. Musburger Ltd., which concentrates in representing prominent individuals in the fields of television, radio, film, publishing, sports and music. Prior to opening his own office, Musburger was with the Cook County Public Defenderís office, the last three years of which were spent as a member of the Murder Task Force. Although he found the transition from murder defense work to entertainment law hardly a seamless one, his observation is that the similarities are remarkable.
Musburger received his law degree from DePaul University and a bachelorís degree in political science from the University of Denver. He is a frequent lecturer on entertainment law and for many years was associated with the National Institute of Trial Advocacy as an instructor in trial advocacy, as well as an adjunct faculty member in trial practice classes at various law schools including Loyola University Chicago, Northwestern University and the University of Nebraska. He is a regular lecturer at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy National Session on The Art of Negotiation.
