Professor Patty Gerstenblith named the 2007 recipient of
the Artemis and Martha Joukowsky Distinguished Service Award
from the Archaeological Institute of America.

Professor Patty Gerstenblith will be the recipient of the Artemis and Martha Joukowsky Distinguished Service Award for 2007 from the Archaeological Institute of America.

The Martha and Artemis Joukowsky Distinguished Service Award is granted to those AIA members who, through their sustained and exceptional volunteer efforts, have furthered the work of the Institute and increased public awareness regarding its mission.

The AIA is the largest and oldest archaeological organization in the United States.

Professor Gerstenblith to lead President Obama’s Cultural Property Advisory Committeer

DePaul College of Law Distinguished Research Professor Patty Gerstenblith, director of the Center for Art, Museum & Cultural Heritage Law, has been selected to chair President Barack Obama’s Cultural Property Advisory Committee (CPAC). The committee, which falls under the U.S. Department of State, assists the United States in implementing the 1970 UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property.
