Michael Birnhack

Michael Birnhack is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law at Tel Aviv University. He conducts research, teaches and writes about law and technology, information law, privacy law and intellectual property. Michael is the chair of the legal committee of the Israeli Public Council for the Protection of Privacy. He advised the European Commission on the status of data protection in Israel and was a member of a governmental advisory committee on Data Protection.
He earned his LL.B. degree at Tel Aviv University (’96), his LL.M. (’98) and J.S.D. (’00) at NYU School of Law. Prior to joining Tel Aviv University, he was a faculty member at the University of Haifa and co-director of the Haifa Center of Law & Technology.
