Intellectual Property and Access to Medicines in the Developing World
The DePaul University College of Law co-sponsored a roundtable discussion with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) on September 20, 2007. This event focused on the issue of access to essential medicines in the developing world, in particular, the global pharmaceutical company Abbott Laboratories’ refusal to launch a new version of the HIV/AIDS drug Kaletra in Thailand.
