SCAMMED! Whose Brand is Next?

Brand owners beware: Are you sure that trademark "notice" you received in the mail is really from the USPTO? How do you know that website is real? The IPLAC Advertising & Internet Committee and DePaul University College of Law hosted an afternoon of short lectures by brand managers, legal experts and enforcement officials as they share experiences with identifying and shutting down branding scams. The program included significant emphasis on shutting down Internet based scams, including discussion on the recent Fourth Circuit decision in Rosetta Stone v. Google regarding search engine liability for third parties using sponsored links.
