Cook County Domestic Violence Courthouse Project

Throughout the year student volunteers assist petitioners seeking Orders of Protection in the Cook County Domestic Violence Court. Since its inception February 2011 through August 2013, more than 225 DePaul law students have helped 2,119 abused persons file petitions, 82 percent of which were successful.

Cook County Juvenile Detention Center

25-30 law student volunteers spend their Spring Break leading workshops at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center on topics such as street law, expungement, job placement, and reintegration into school.

Just Us Girls Conference

Every fall, the Center hosts a day-long series of workshops for 500 teenaged girls primarily from inner city neighborhoods. Workshops cover a gamut of topics including street law, domestic violence, and expungement of juvenile records.
