Internships in Chicago

Interns will work part-time throughout the academic year to assist with a variety of tasks, including administrative work and research projects. Interns are also invited to participate in events hosted by IHRLI.
Applications will be accepted at the beginning of each fall term.” To apply, please submit a cover letter expressing your interest and a copy of your résumé to ihrli@depaul.edu
Sullivan Human Rights Internships in the Americas
The Sullivan Human Rights Internships in the Americas provide two DePaul students with financial assistance to support travel and living expenses for the summer session. Students gain direct field experience working on human rights issues. The internships link coursework and theoretical training received at DePaul with direct engagement in human rights advocacy, whether in the formal legal setting of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) or at a grassroots organization.
The IACHR internship allows a student to spend the summer working at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jose, Costa Rica. Working knowledge of the Spanish language is required for this internship. The Americas-NGO internship funds a student to spend the summer working with a human rights organization of his/her choice in the Americas. There is no language prerequisite for the Americas-NGO internship. English can be a working language of the chosen NGO.
Both internships include a stipend to cover the cost of travel, housing, food, and other expenses.
