IHRLI Review

Introduction:
The International Human Rights Law Institute (IHRLI) of DePaul University College of Law is an academically-based institution that designs and implements human rights, governance and institutional capacity-building, and rule of law projects throughout the world. In doing so, and in carrying-out our other academic functions, we at the Institute link to a diverse inter-disciplinary network of scholars and experts working in a variety of legal, economic, social policy, technological, and local and regional society and culture programs. We at IHRLI likewise connect to a diverse inter-disciplinary network of governmental and non-governmental officials from around the world, as well as with practitioners from diverse backgrounds in law, social sciences and policy studies.

IHRLI strives to bridge gaps in understanding between these various academic, governmental and non-governmental entities. This is particularly true in matters pertaining to governance and institutional capacity building, rule of law implementation, and human rights advancement. Therefore, in keeping with our mission, we at IHRLI are proud to implement this inaugural IHRLI Review. It is our intention for the IHRLI Review to serve as a vehicle whereby scholarly articles, official documents and professional briefings may periodically be submitted for your review and comment. We also hope that by bringing these matters to your attention, you will respond with your own articles, helpful inputs, comments and critiques. In this way, we hope to serve as a conduit between entities which may not otherwise routinely interact with one another.

* The IHRLI Review is not a formal publication, but rather serves as a forum for both students and professionals to post their work, to gain feedback and to encourage discussions and further research and study. The articles presented above are direct submissions from the respective authors and have not been edited by IHRLI staff.
