Clinical Programs
Misdemeanor Legal
Commensurate with DePaul’s Vincentian tradition, the Misdemeanor Legal Clinic offers a much-needed service to the community and gives students who have achieved 711 status the opportunity to represent indigent persons charged with misdemeanors. Students participating in the clinic investigate cases, file and litigate appropriate motions, and may try or plead cases in court. Clinic students also work with students from related disciplines to address the mental and social health needs of their clients. The clinic is supervised by Professor Cynthia Roseberry, an experienced litigator in federal criminal and state felony defense and a faculty member of the William Daniels Trial Advocacy Program and the National Criminal Defense College. Offered for the first time in spring 2008, DePaul’s student teams won all four cases appointed to the clinic.
