Biography Professor Gold’s primary research interests address legal theory and the law of corporations. Following graduation from Duke University School of Law, he clerked with the Honorable Daniel Manion of the Seventh Circuit, and with the Honorable Loren Smith of the United States Court of Federal Claims. After his clerkships, he joined Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in their Wilmington, Delaware office, where he practiced corporate litigation. His areas of expertise include corporate law, federal securities law, and regulatory takings doctrine. Professor Gold's article, "A Property Theory of Contract," is lead article in the 2009 volume of the Northwestern University Law Review. His recent publications also include articles in the Maryland, Wake Forest, and American University law reviews, as well as the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy. In 2007, Professor Gold was the recipient of the College of Law's Award for Excellence in Scholarship. His scholarship has focused on contract theory; the business judgment rule; Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act; and the original understanding of the Fifth Amendment Takings Clause. |
