Biography L. Song Richardson is an associate professor of law. She received her BA from Harvard College where she majored in psychology and graduated with honors. She also earned distinction at the college as well as internationally for her classical piano performances, which included performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She earned her JD from Yale Law School where she served on the board of the Yale Journal of International Law. Following law school, she was a Skadden Arps Public Interest Fellow with the National Immigration Law Center in Los Angeles, served as assistant counsel to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., and was a state and federal public defender. Just prior to joining the DePaul law faculty, she was a partner with a premier criminal law firm in Seattle, Washington. She has defended numerous white collar, serious felony and capital cases in state and federal court, and has made numerous television appearances. Richardson is currently co-director of the law school’s Center for Law & Science, and she is a frequently invited speaker at conferences across the country on criminal procedure issues. In spring 2009, she was a visiting professor at Boston College Law School. Her research and teaching interests include criminal law, criminal procedure and prosecutorial ethics. Her past and forthcoming publications appear in the Berkeley Journal of International Law, the Cornell International Law Journal, the Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology, and Law & Contemporary Problems. |
