The 2009 National Latina/o Law Student Association (NLLSA) Conference is designed to help mold the leaders of tomorrow into compassionate professionals who value community service. Our theme, “La Fuerza del Cambio, La Esperanza del Futuro” (The Power of Change, The Hope of Tomorrow), illustrates the focus on making a positive difference in society both in and out of the courtroom. We also will recognize the achievements of leaders who have worked to diversify the legal community and helped pave the way for young Latino lawyers.
The weekend will feature:
- Topical discussions and workshops addressing legal issues affecting the Latino community.
- Panel discussions offering strategies to succeed both during and after law school.
- Networking events and opportunities to enjoy the city’s cultural sights and vibrant nightlife.
- A community service event giving attendees a chance to make a positive contribution to a Chicago-based social services organization.
