Nominees sought for 14th Annual DePaul University Law Alumni Awards
DePaul University's College of Law is accepting nominations for its 2007 Law Alumni Awards. The awards program, now in its 14th year, honors outstanding DePaul law school graduates in four categories:
Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award
This is the highest distinction the DePaul College of Law Alumni Board can bestow. It is intended to recognize DePaul College of Law alumni who have reached the pinnacle of their careers, maintaining a level of career excellence over their lifetime. It honors alumni who have enhanced the prestige of DePaul University and the College of Law by virtue of their character, integrity and personal accomplishments. Recipients exemplify living the DePaul mission in both their personal and professional life. Service to the university is not a prerequisite for this award; however, it is considered in the selection process.
Outstanding Service to the Profession Award
This award recognizes DePaul College of Law alumni who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their chosen field or specialty - be it judiciary, public service or interest, the business community or the legal profession. Recipients have reached a level of excellence in their career and exemplify living the DePaul mission in both their personal and professional life.
Outstanding Service to DePaul University Award
This award recognizes DePaul College of Law alumni who have demonstrated outstanding service to DePaul University - be it through volunteerism, philanthropy or any other means. Recipients have rendered significant time, talent and effort to support the mission of DePaul University and the College of Law. They exemplify living the DePaul mission in both their personal and professional life.
Outstanding Young Alumnus/Alumna Award
This award recognizes the accomplishments of DePaul College of Law alumni under the age of 40, or those who are young to the profession, having graduated from the DePaul College of Law within the past ten years. Recipients have shown promise in their careers and service to DePaul University and the College of Law. Recipients exemplify living the DePaul mission in both their personal and professional life.
Any member of the community can submit nominations in any of the award categories. Nominees, however, must be graduates of DePaul's College of Law. The deadline for nominations is April, 13, 2007.
Awards will be presented during the DePaul University Law Alumni Awards Luncheon scheduled for Sept. 20, 2007, at the Palmer House Hilton at 17 East Monroe Street, Chicago. The public is welcome to attend. Tickets are $50 per person or $500 for a table of 10. To register for the luncheon, please contact DePaul's Office of Alumni Relations at (800) 437-1898.
