Olga Madruga-Forti has more than 25 years experience as a senior executive and legal practitioner in the telecommunications and satellite industries, as well as extensive experience in litigation, commercial arbitration and negotiation across numerous emerging market countries, including India, Singapore, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Currently, she is international counsel for ARSAT S.A., an international satellite company based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prior to joining ARSAT, Madruga-Forti was vice president, regulatory and legal, for Iridium Satellite, where she headed the company's global regulatory and market access operations. Prior to joining Iridium, she was vice president, legal and regulatory, for Loral CyberStar, a U.S. international satellite company. She also served as chair of the Satellite Working Group of the Organization of American States, Inter-American Telecommunications Commission.
Before joining Loral, Madruga-Forti served nine years at the Federal Communications Commission as special counsel for International Satellite Policy and chief of the Domestic Services Branch of the Common Carrier Bureau. Earlier in her career, she was an associate with Washington law firm Scott, McLeod, Pires & Price and an assistant county attorney with the Dade County Attorney's Office in Miami, Florida. She earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, concentrating on international business law and graduating as the Belgrano Scholar to the Organization of American States. Prior to that, she graduated summa cum laude from Emory University with a double major, earning a BA in both English and French Literature. She is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
