Professor Antonio Sanchez-BayonAntonio Sanchez-Bayon
Before joining Universidad Europea de Madrid, Dr. Sanchez-Bayon was a research fellow at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid School of Law and a visiting scholar at Harvard, DePaul, Baylor and Universidad Rafael Landivar-Guatemala. Sanchez-Bayon is co-chair and founder of the Instituto de Analisis Estrategicos y Comunicacion Social de Espana, Centro Iberoamericano de Estudios Juridicos y Politicos, and Instituto Metodologico de Derecho Eclesiastico del Estado y Sociologia Juridica. His expertise includes political and legal analysis in the areas of human rights and democratic culture and conflictresolution studies, including business arbitration, conciliation, mediation and negotiation. Sanchez-Bayon is the author of numerous publications, including two co-authored books and several articles in legal and policy journals.

Professor Dr. Jesús AlmogueraProfessor Dr. Jesús Almoguera is a partner of Ashurst LLP and heads the corporate department of its Madrid office. Jesús specialises in M&A, private equity, dispute resolution and insolvency. He is a "laureate lawyer" of the European Commission (1989, open competition). Prior to joining Ashurst he was a partner at Ariño & Almoguera, and a partner at Melchor de las Heras (now CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo). Jesús was also general- secretary of Radio Televisión Española (RTVE). He is an adjunct professor of Law at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid, and during 2007-08 was a National Fellow and Visiting Scholar at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research-SIEPR, Center for Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law-CDDRL and Rock Center for Corporate Governance-School of Law. He is frequently mentioned s a "leading attorney" in M&A, Corporate, Private Equity, Dispute Resolution and Restructuring & Insolvency by specialized publications.

Professor Javier W. Ibanez JimenezProfessor Javier W. Ibanez Jimenez is Chairman of the Doctorate Commission at the Faculty of Law, Universidad Comillas de Madrid, where is also Professor of Commercial Law, Banking and Securities Law, and Company Law. Since 2007 he is the Head of the Research Group, “Law, Market and Global Sustainable Society”, carrying out research on conflicts of interest in financial markets. Some of this research has been published in the Journal of International Banking Law and Regulation. Since 2008 he also has chaired the arbitral proceedings requested by Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG. He has served as member of the Board of the José de la Vega-DIEM Foundation (2004-2008), independent Director of the FIAMM Foundation (2003), and CNMV Supporting Lawyer (1997-1998), closely involved in the drafting and publication of the Olivencia Corporate Governance Report. He has served as Visiting Professor, researcher and lecturer in public agencies and financial market supervisory bodies in seven different European and American countries, and is the author of 12 books and more than 100 published papers.

Professor Inigo A. Navarro MendizabalProf. Inigo A. Navarro Mendizabal is Head of the Department of Private Law and Associate Professor of Civil Law at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid. He teaches courses in the areas of Civil Law, Contracts, Torts, Environmental Law, and Consumer Protection Law. He has held postgraduate fellowships at ESADE, DEUSTO and ICADE, and he has served as lecturer in the Faculty of Law of Radboud, Universiteit Nijmegen; the Management Center of Innsbruck, Austria; the Cardfiff Law School; as International Advisor in Universidad Católica de Mozambique, 1999; Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School, 1997-1998; Research Fellow in Université Libre de Bruxelles, 1992 ; and Research Fellow in Univesiteit Ghent, the Netherlands, 1992.

Professor Irene Claro QuintanasProf. Irene Claro Quintanas holds a BA in Law ("Licenciatura en Derecho") from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid, and a European PhD on International Law. Her doctoral dissertation was on “Towards a Common European Asylum System: Special Reference to the Interpretation of the Refugee’s Concept under International Law”. During April-May 2003 she held a prestigious Research Internship at the Centre for Migration Law, Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen (The Netherlands).

She is currently Lecturer on International Public Law and European Union Law at the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Her main areas of research are Asylum and Immigration Law, International Human Rights Law, Reception Conditions of Asylum Seekers, and Family Reunification. She has participated in different reports for the European Commission on the issue of Spanish policies on asylum and refugees.

Professor Cristina Gortázar RotaecheProfessor Cristina Gortázar Rotaeche is Professor of International Law, European Law and International Relations at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid, and a Lecturer in Asylum and Refugee Law. Since 2000 she is the Spanish National expert in the Odysseus Network (Academic Network for Legal Studies on Immigration and Asylum in Europe), and in 2002 was appointed to a Jean Monnet Chair on European Law. From 2002 to 2007 she served as Vice-Rector for International Relations and Extension Programs at the University, and since 2007 she has been the Director of the University’s Institute for Migrations Studies. She is a noted expert on European Immigration Law, having authored, co-authored, and edited some 25 books, 20 articles, and hundreds of conferences papers.
