Student Organization Fair:
Members of the DePaul Appellate Moot Court Society will be present at the 2007-2008 DePaul Student Organization Fair on August 23rd from 4:30 - 6:00 pm in the DePaul Center - Lower Lever. Members of the Appellate Moot Court Society will be available to speak with students about the organization and answer any questions that students may have about Appellate Moot Court Society. Please look for the DePaul Appellate Moot Court table at the event to obtain more information. 2007-2008 DePaul Appellate Moot Court Society Intramural Competition & Tryouts:
The DePaul Appellate Moot Court Society will be holding its 2007-2008 Intramural Competition in September 2007. All returning 2nd, 3rd and 4th year law students are invited to participate in the competition. Participants will be required to write an abbreviated appellate brief and participate in oral arguments based on problem that will be distributed August 17, 2007. All briefs must be completed by August 31, 2007.

Once participants have completed and submitted their briefs, they will be paired with another student in order to participate in the oral advocacy component of the competition. Two person teams will face off against one another and present their arguments in front of panels of three judges. Preliminary rounds of the oral arguments will take place at the Daley Center on September 6th and 7th. Students will be invited to sign up on either the 6th or the 7th, based on their availability. The finals round will take place on September 8th. Students will be allotted approximately ten (10) minutes per teammate during the oral arguments.

The Appellate Moot Court Society will invite students to interview with the Board based on their performance at the competition. Students are encouraged, and invited, to participate in the competition even if they do not wish to join Appellate Moot Court Society.

The Appellate Moot Court Society will also be presenting awards, including Best Brief, Best Oral Advocate and Winner of 2007-2008 DePaul Appellate Moot Court Intramural Competition.

Tryouts for the 2007-2008 DePaul Appellate Moot Court Society will take place in September 2007. Students who wish to tryout of Appellate Moot Court are invited to participate in the DePaul Appellate Moot Court Society's Intramural Competition, which will double at the 2007-2008 tryouts. All returning 2nd, 3rd and 4th year law students are invited to participate in the competition. Participants will be required to write an abbreviated appellate brief and participate in oral arguments based on problem that will be distributed in late August.
