Each year the DePaul Journal of Health Care Law publishes articles on health law subjects of current interest to health care practitioners, legal researchers and scholars, and health care professsionals. Here are a few frequently asked question on what we look for and how to submit your work:
What kind of submissions do you you look for?
The editors welcome submission of manuscripts by established scholars
in the field of health care law, as well as the broad field of health
care where matters of ethics, medical practices or economics have legal
implications.
The editors have a special interest in articles addressing issues of
concern to practicing health lawyers; one of the ways this objective
can be met is to obtain articles from lawyers about subjects that occur
in their practice. Most of the articles published in the Journal
average thirty to fifty double spaced typewritten pages in manuscript
form, plus footnotes.
Who should submit articles?
In addition to scholars in the field of health care law, we encourage
all health care attorneys to consider submitting manuscripts for
publication in the Journal. Articles may be derived from recently
prepared legal memoranda, briefs or presentations involving health care
law. Colleagues may be enlisted as coauthors. This publication also
aims to publish work by young scholars and advanced students whose
analysis of the law and review of recent developments provide fresh
insight into traditional and emerging issues in health care law.
What should submissions include?
All submissions must include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae or
resume, an electronic and hard copy of the article (in Word or
WordPerfect format), and contact information (e-mail address and
telephone number).
How should I submit my article?
Submissions should be sent to the following address:
DePaul Journal of Health Care Law
c/o Editor in Chief
25 East Jackson Boulevard, Room 711
Chicago, Illinois 60604-2287
OR depaul_hlj@yahoo.com
What are the formatting requirements for submissions?
Submissions should comply with current Bluebook citation standards, and
should be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font with 1" margins.
Could you tell me more about the review process and offers of publication?
The Editorial Board thoroughly considers each submission, and makes
every effort to contact the submitting author in a timely fashion. An
offer for publication includes a contract that stipulates Journal
requirements and expectations.
Who should I contact for questions regarding submissions?
Please direct questions regarding submissions to Jonathan Rohde
