The Latino Law Students' Association
Our Mission

The Latino/a Law Students' Association's mission is to support the academic and social environment of Latino law students at DePaul University College of Law. While our primary concern is to offer academic support to our members, LLSA is committed to addressing the current social issues that affect the Latino community at large. Our activities and concerns include:

  • To support academically incoming first-year Latino law students as well as upperclass LLSA members;
  • To ensure that Latino law students at DePaul Universitry College of Law develop the skills necessary to successfully complete the demanding requirements to practice law;
  • To supplement the diverse career opportunities DePaul University College of Law offers by conducting events aimed to enhance LLSA members' necessary skills to competently compete in the job market;
  • To provide networking opportunities for a career in the legal profession;
  • To secure adequate representation of Latinos at DePaul University College of Law;
  • To develop a solid coalition among Latino law students by organizing and providing social events for LLSA members;
  • To establish a mentor program for the incoming first-year Latino law students;
  • To encourage undergraduate students to pursue law as a career through recruitment efforts;
  • To provide financial assistance to LLSA members through the establishment and maintenance of the Latino Law Student Association Scholarship; and
  • To create a bridge between the Latino community and LLSA members by participating and supporting events that affect our community at large.
